About event

The rock opera THE WALL will take place on March 29, 2022 at the Ukraine Palace.

THE WALL - OPERA ROCK is a 2019 show from City Lights Entertainment that celebrates the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd's album "The Wall". THE WALL - OPERA ROCK is by no means a tribute show. The idea was to recreate this mythical piece, combining contemporary ballet with live performance.

Using mixed media, the show gives the audience a new contemporary experience while celebrating Pink Floyd's music. The dancers, band and singers led by French choreographer Johan Nous are delighted to present the incredible Pink Floyd - The Wall - Opera-Rock show! The musical accompaniment of the group and singers from the UK, dancers and soloists of Ars Lyrica - Talent d'Argile Ballet under the guidance of an eminent choreographer, who has various projects from Paris to Las Vegas, will ensure an unforgettable evening and immersion in the work of your favorite rock band.

The Wall - Opera Rock - 4 soloists, 6 musicians, 10 dancers on stage together with various visual effects will create a unique and immersive story of the epic album "The Wall".

British rock group Pink Floyd has become a real musical phenomenon of the twentieth century. The collective became famous for long tracks, songs combined into thematic suites, experiments with sound, philosophical lyrics, creative album covers and grandiose concert shows.

The eleventh - "The Wall" stands apart in the line of Pink Floyd albums. First, it came out on two discs. Secondly, this is the last album recorded in the so-called classic Pink Floyd lineup: David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. "The Wall" became one of the most commercially successful albums of 1980, and two years later director Alan Parker directed the film "The Wall" based on it. The main role in the film was played by Bob Geldof.

Album "The Wall" itself is like a rock opera. The main character, named Pink, has been protecting himself from society since childhood. It all started with the death of his father. The boy is being bullied at school. The oppressive mother only aggravates the psychological problems of the child. As an adult, Pink gets married, but his marriage collapses. All this leads to his voluntary self-isolation. Who knew that 40 years after the release of this album, the word "self-isolation" would set the world on edge.

It is not surprising that the rock opera "The Wall" was staged based on this plot, which can be seen in Kiev on March 29, 2022. Here the wall is the main symbol of the alienation of the lone hero. Spectators of the rock opera "The Wall" in Kiev will hear "Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2", "Comfortably Numb", "Hey You" and other compositions that will immerse them in the work of the great rock group
