Machine Head will play in Kiev for the first time

In 1991, Rob Flynn left the Vio-lence band after a team broke up with one of Auckland's local gangs. Flynn did not sit back for long and started his own group. Many think its name has appeared, thanks to the song Deep Purple. But Rob chose her simply because she sounds cool. The name is Machine Head. The guys didn't know yet that they would become one of the iconic teams in groove metal. They will be coming to Kyiv for the first time in honor of the 25th anniversary of the release of their debut album Burn My Eyes.

November 6, Stereo Plaza

Burn My Eyes was released in 1994 and immediately became a model among all the heavy music of that time. Many called Machine Head not only strikingly heavy in terms of music, but also in terms of the content they put into their songs.

Rob Flynn at Burn My Eyes sang about everything. About the 1992 Los Angeles riot, when thousands of African Americans came to the defense of Rodney King, a guy who was never beaten by white police. Flynn also touched on the issue of social inequality, psychological violence and politics.

This spectrum of thought has attracted such a wide audience, that for five years Burn My Eyes held the title of the most profitable record of the Roadrunner label. In 1999, the baton was taken over by the debut of several masked guys who called themselves Slipknot.

Burn My Eyes has sold more than half a million disks, formed a loyal fan base of fans and opened a new subgenre - groove metal in thrash metal. So Machine Head can be considered a pioneer in this direction.

Already in May, the original cast of Burn My Eyes - Rob Flynn, Logan Mader and Chris Contos - will come together to play Davidian, Old and other highlights from the album, which significantly influenced heavy music.

"It's a special moment. An important point in my career. It blows my mind that I've been in the business for 25 years and still make music. And that I have the opportunity to celebrate the anniversary of the album that brought us to where we are now together with Chris and Logan. We've been discussing this for a very long time, but now it's time to have a holiday of music we wrote together, "- Rob Flynn.
