You can always look at three things: fire, water and how the British pop duo Hurts gathers a crowd of fans again. Once they performed for the first time in a small Crystal Hall in Kyiv, and now they easily "pack" the largest venues in Ukraine.
The new tour in support of the upcoming album Faith will not be an exception in terms of scale. Moreover, this will be the biggest Hurts tour in our country since 2013. Remember the dates: March 29 - Kharkiv, March 30 - Odessa, March 31 - Kiev. The site in three cities is the Palace of Sports.
Faith will be the fifth album in the Hurts discography. Theo Hatchcraft and Adam Anderson spent exactly three years creating it. Prior to that, the biggest break was between the debut of Happiness and the second studio Exile - two and a half years.
According to Hatchcraft, such a long pause was caused by his personal problems:
"I was completely exhausted physically and mentally. I had to stop and do nothing for a very long time because I couldn't think, focus, nothing came out at all. And to be honest, I didn't know what the future held for me, Hurts and whether we will record another album " .
Anderson completely agrees with Hatchcraft. The first studio sessions seemed completely meaningless to him:
"If you had told me at the beginning that the recording process would be very powerful and inspiring, I wouldn't have believed you. I thought we didn't stand a chance. Not at all."
Interesting things helped to restore the active recording process. For example, Hatchcraft has found two interesting ways to deal with its problems. The first is blind therapy, when you are blindfolded for a long time and you try to live with other sensations. The second was two weeks he spent at home with ... the octopus of a friend he was supervising.
However, the most important thing is a return to the roots of serious pop music, which the Hurts did not do for a long time and promised to do so on the new album:
"We fell in love again with the type of music we started with. We always added something gloomy to our songs and we seem to have managed to get back to that in full."
The first singles - Voices, Suffer and Redemption - show that Hurts keep their word, and we will hear the whole release soon, as Faith is released on September 4.
